L2TP / IPSec · R‑VPN · Android

Step 1

1. Settings

L2TP is configured with Android's own tools, no app is needed. Open “Settings” and find the VPN section — its place differs between firmwares, so the easiest way is to type “VPN” into the settings search.

⚠️ On Android 12 and newer the built-in L2TP client has been removed by Google. If there is no L2TP section in the settings, use the other protocols from your subscription: V2Ray via Happ or INCY, AmneziaWG, WireGuard or IKEv2 via strongSwan — the guides are in the “Useful links” block.

Step 2

2. Network settings

In the search results pick the “VPN” item (usually it lives under “More” or “Network & internet”).

Step 3

3. Adding a connection

Press “Add VPN” at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4

4. Entering connection detail

A new profile form opens. “Name” — any clear name, R-VPN and the country for example.

Step 5

5. Enter data from the website

Fill in the rest from the dashboard: “Type” — L2TP/IPSec PSK, “Server address” — the server address from the list in the dashboard, “IPSec pre-shared key” — the key RocketVPN, “Username” and “Password” — from the “Connection details” block. Leave “L2TP secret” and “IPSec identifier” empty and save the profile.

Step 6

6. Connection

Flip the switch on the profile you created — “Connected” appears under its name and a VPN icon shows in the status bar. To change countries, create several profiles with different server addresses.

To avoid picking servers blindly, use our Radar service — radar.rvpn.online: it shows which servers are up right now and how fast they respond (sign in with your VPN login and password).

If something does not work out, message our online consultant — the turquoise rocket icon in the bottom-right corner. We will help you and answer your questions.
