1. Download
In the “Useful links” block, under macOS, click “Download OpenVPN Connect” — an archive with the OpenVPN Connect installer downloads (macOS 11 or later is required). Unzip it if your Mac has not done so, and open the .dmg image with a double click. It contains two installers: on a Mac with an Apple M chip (M1 or newer) run the one with “arm64” in its name, on an Intel Mac — the one with “x86_64”, and go through the setup. You can check your processor in the Apple menu → “About This Mac” (the “Chip” or “Processor” line).
|
2. Software installation
After installing, OpenVPN Connect opens on the “Import Profile” → “FILE” tab. This is the window where the configuration file has to be dropped.
|
3. Download config files
The dashboard has a “Download OpenVPN Certificate” block with the servers grouped by region. Open a region with its arrow and click the server you need — an .ovpn configuration file downloads. The login and password for the connection are on the same page, in the “Connection details” block.
|
4. Configuration import
Drag the downloaded .ovpn file into the “Import Profile” window (or press “BROWSE” and pick it manually). One profile is imported at a time — repeat for each server.
|
5. Connection
In the “Profiles” list flip the switch on the profile you need. The client asks for a login and a password — they are in the “Connection details” block of the dashboard; tick “Save password” so you do not have to type it every time.
|
6. Connection established
The status changes to CONNECTED and traffic statistics appear — the connection is up. The same switch turns it off, and switching countries means picking another profile from the list.
To avoid picking servers blindly, use our Radar service — radar.rvpn.online: it shows which servers are up right now and how fast they respond (sign in with your VPN login and password).
