Shadowsocks · R‑VPN · macOS

Step 1

1. Download

In the “Useful links” block at the bottom of the dashboard, under macOS, click “Download ShadowsocksX-NG” — the ShadowsocksX-NG client downloads. Drag the app into Applications and start it: its icon appears in the menu bar at the top.

Step 2

2. Select country

In the dashboard open the “Connect to server” block, expand a region and press “Connect” under the flag you need — the server is activated and moves to “Current connections”. Activate several servers at once: switching profiles in the app is faster than coming back to the dashboard.

Step 3

3. Download config files

Press the “QR-Code” button on an activated server — a window with the configuration code opens. That is what the app will read, so keep the window open for now.

Step 4

4. Configuration import

Click the Shadowsocks icon in the menu bar and choose “Scan QR Code From Screen” — the app finds the code in the open dashboard window and adds the server to the “Servers” list.

Step 5

5. Connection

In the same menu press “Turn Shadowsocks On” and make sure “Global Mode” is ticked. The server is picked under “Servers”, and “Turn Shadowsocks Off” disconnects.

To avoid picking servers blindly, use our Radar service — radar.rvpn.online: it shows which servers are up right now and how fast they respond (sign in with your VPN login and password).

If something does not work out, message our online consultant — the turquoise rocket icon in the bottom-right corner. We will help you and answer your questions.
